timing problem!
92 toyota pickup 22re
i just replaced the seal on my timing chain cover. after marking everything the way it was and putting it back together as was, i cant get it started. It ran b4 i did this but then again it sat for almost 5 months b4 i started working on it. i dnt think the gas is bad. and i thought the timing was on time.
>Its getting a spark to the #1 plug
>The battery is charged fully
>the distrib is new, as well as o2 sensors, fuel filter, mass air.... etc.
>the injectors r spraying good
idk what else to do. i dnt think im 180 degrees off either on my timing cuz i am TDC and one the #1 spark plug. help it u can. im up for any suggestions. thank you

i just did a rebuild on mine and stumbled across that as well. first thing, go back and double check that you are tdc on the compression stroke. when you slide the dist. in make sure the rotor is pointing to 12:00, it will roll back to about 11:00, and thats where you will want it to be. but the main thing is your tdc on the compression stroke.
