Have 97 4runner with 131,000 going from park to drive sometimes it seems stuck when pressing on the gas then lunges forward has had front, rear, e-brake checked by two different mechanics no one can find anything wrong does not happen all the time...also when pressing on the brake to stop completely I hear a thunk noise again does not happen all the time
mechanics can't find problem they say engine is strong whats up....!!!

 

If the torque converter is starting to go it can cause a lunging effect when taking off.
