Hello, I have 91 4runner thats runs amazing. However the last 3 days the idel goes really high on a cold start up, then after about a min or 2 it drops down to normal. The second weird thing is the Water Temp Gauge moves all over the place when im driving; but the engine doesnt run likes its under a load. I live in CA and its not abnormally hot or anything like that. Also its not drinking lots of water so im not sure what going on. Any Suggestions?

One more thing, check engine like comes on and off so probabley something with tyhat im assuming.

Double check your radiator level, as far as the CEL you'll have to pull codes for that.
