Tacoma lift questions!
I'm planning on lifting my 2001 Tacoma TRD so I can put on some new Goodyear Duratrac 285/75R16's. I talked with Toytec and decided to buy Bilstein 5100 front and rear shocks along w/ new Eibach coils. I already have AAL's on the rear. My questions are: will the tires work with a 3" lift, what is preferred blocks or shackles, and will my truck feel too unstable when I carry my two canoes? Thanks for any feed back

3 inches should clear 285s. Shackles in the rear would be better than blocks but you said you already have add a leafs back there so you might be alot higher in the back if you add shackles to your already lifted rear end. The main issue with running wider tires is that they will rub on your upper control arm unless you have wheels with less backspacing. 4" backspacing should work well.

They will rub the mud flaps. I have or had an 03 with 285 75 16. Its not that bad, just expect it. I was using aftermarket rims, if stock is used they mite not. I still have the pro-comp 4 inch lift if you are interested. Took the lift off before the truck went. Its in great shape.
