Hey man, I hear ya. I'm pretty sure the 94 should be the same as my 87. The thermostat is on top of the intake, to the right of/behind the throttle body. Two bolts hold it in.

I will find you a picture and post it up for ya. Just for your information, most people feel, on this site and most others for Toyota, that the Toyota Thermostat is the way to go. Definitely a dealer is the best option part.

Here you go..... it takes a lil finagling and turning it at angles to get it out just right, but you'll get it. DON'T USE ANY SEALANT! Just use the o-ring it comes with, k? >>>

the orange circles are where the two bolts(12MM) that have to be removed are.

#5 is your thermostat and #6 is your housing. I don't have a 22re so I can't really tell you exactly how to replace it...but I'm pretty sure you just unbolt the housing and pop the new one in there?? Definitely go with an OEM thermostat, and maybe pick up a Haynes manual while your out shopping. Also not a bad idea to replace radiator hoses and flush the coolant while you're in there if you have time.
