Suspension and wheels
I have a newb question...but I admit I am not as good at wrenching as ya'll. I am going to run a 15x8 wheel with 31x10.5 on my 1994 pickup. I have some rubbing and popping at full steer now and was wondering what is the smallest amount of lift I can put on my truck? I don't crawl with it. It is my daily driver and it tows my boat, takes me hunting (muddy rutted paths, standing water <15",small trees, etc.) Some lift would be nice and look sweet. But I don't want to go full on 4-6" with body lift, LOL.

you dont have to lift at all. whats the backspacing on the rims? if your going to be towing id say stay with the stock suspension.
edit: popping at full steer is something we all have lol

you could just do the Wab Fab 2 inch ball joint spacer lift. its pretty simple and not too expensive. http://www.wabfab.org/IFS-Lift-Kits/...ypage.tpl.html

Have you all ever heard of tightening the torsion bars up front? Some one suggested that to me but seems like it would make an already rough ride, worse.
Not lifting to tow was a thought. It is an asthetic thing as well. The front tires seem too close to the wheel well corners up front.

If you do the ball joint spacers in the front you could loosen the torsion bars a little bit to achieve just an inch of lift. Added benefit would be a slightly softer ride in the front than you have now.
