stripped spark plug wont fire now

I have a 91 toyota 22re pickup and had a spark plug blow out while i was driving. I am sure that the threads are stripped on the block but i was able to put tape on the threads and snug it in place and limp home (actually it ran nice). The next day when i went to get new plugs wires and the "timesert" replacement threads the firing was off or not firing and leaving me with little to no power. Any ideas?

Sounds like wires on wrong

or the wires are not seated on the cap or plugs like they should be.

or you just bought junk wires.

wrong plugs or gaped wrong

May have cracked the spark plug when it blew out? I believe that can cause some weird running issues. But you said it ran fine when you taped it into place...

Im gonna have to agree with wyoming9. make sure your wires follow the correct firing order.

Search on here for the fsm for your truck. In there you will find the diagnostic procedures.

thanks for the link. i found which fuse is for the tail and it is fine. When i put the light switch into 2nd position that should turn the dash light on and the tail light on i can hear the click but there is no light. I am having trouble following the wires to check the connections. Any ideas?

i was just told that there is a safety mechanism that will shut the dash light off if the rear lights go out. anyone know where that is? all the other lights in the back work and the bulbs are good on the running/break(dule light single bulb) lights.

Make sure the fuse connection is tight I have seen loose connections drive people crazy because like you they see the fuse is good and look no closer

Check to make sure your tail light relay is working.

I only have the 92 Electrical manual it might be different
