On my 1990 Toyota 4 Runner. 22re. Here we I just did the timing chain and got everything all back together. But when I was taking crank shaft pully apart I kinda dented the dust shield on the back put my motor back together and started it. It runs really good timing is all on perfect things are all aligned and really responsive but sounds like metal on metal and that's the only thing I think it could be. Nothing is touching that I can see. And idk if the crank pulley it too 110 ft pounds

 

Cranking down to hard on the valve cover will make noise as well.

If it was the crank pulley I bet you could see sparks
