Stiff gas pedal
Hi everyone new to the forum. Just picked up a 1992 Toyota pickup 4x4 DLX ext cab with the 3vze engine. When I was driving it home noticed that the gas pedal needed my entire body weight to accelerate. I did some searching on the forum and came to the conclusion that I need to get an accelerator cable due to the cable more than likely being worn out. Most people have stated that buying a new one is the way to go over attempting to lube the cable. I have attempted to find the cable online but am in desperate need of the OEM part number. From my understanding there are two cables the kickdown cable for the trans and the accelerator cable. Any advice where to get one? Found one website but prices seemed really high like $120 bucks?

78180- is the part prefix, I think 35060 is the right model but you'll want to double check that with the parts counter verses your VIN. Price is around 80$ with online discounts.
There are a few sources that could bind. Spring in the pedal, the cable is worn or it routes wrong, springs in the linkage, or the throttle plate itself. If you disconnect the cable from the crank arm it'll point you in the right direction to chase.
The transmission cable isn't a kickdown cable, the auto transmission is electronic control, but I've forgotten it's "title". it's a line pressure regulating device that will increase the clutch force at WOT giving firmer shift.

Thanks guys for the responses. CO 94 PU thanks for the clarification and the part number I will do some research and see what one matches. I forgot to mention that I have the 5 speed manual trans if that makes a difference.

If you have the second cable on a manual transmission it's going to be the cruise control.
Which reminds me of another drag/bind point. On my 86 4runner the cruise control cable is attached to the pedal not the throttle body. When I purchased it this cruise cable was disconnected and out of place ( read as: wound up in a Knott) and was causing a very stiff pedal.
