Unhappy start and electrical problems

ok im new to the site and to the truck.. i have an 86 4x4 pickup with the 22r i went out off roading last night a bit and got stuck in some mud then my truck started to sink long story short i took on some water in the cab.... everything was fine untill this morning i went to start the truck and it wouldnt start i checked all the fuses and connections cleaned everything even the grounds then tried and all it did was click.. i was able to push start it so i figure that problem is just the starter cuz i had the same problem with my supra at one point.. any way once i got it started my charge and break light were both on and my radio cut out for a second ive read a little bit about this problem on here but not to sure what to look for to fix the problem.. my batt is 100% checked it with a batt charger. im thinking alternator maybe or could it be a short in the cab from getting water in there? i dunno im not used to carb trucks or these trucks at all since most of my time goes into working on my supra

the alternator would not cause the truck not to start. check the small positive wire that comes off the battery cable that goes into the fuse box. also check the fuse for the charge system. I believe it's a 7.5amp fuse in the same fuse box under the hood.

Once I got my 84 so deep in the mud that all the silt stirred up and got into the alternator and starter killed everything all dash lights were on.

I had to replace the alt and starter and everything was fine. But if you are good you may be able to clean the parts out?
