Spark Plugs

Hey guys, i was just reading my 01 4runner i=owners manual and saw that it says
Use only spark plugs of the specified
type. Using other types will
cause engine damage, loss of performance
or radio noise.
It doesnt tell me which spark plugs to use. Can anyone tell me which?
I bought my runner used and when i first changed them they were NGK Platinum and they had the 2 "things"(2 metal curls) at the end. I replaced them with NGK Platinum but with only 1 "thing" at the end... would that be a problem??

Thnx.

They mean don't use lawnmower plugs in your Toyota. I wouldn't be surprised if my 22re used them from the factory though.

Also if you got them across the counter at your local parts store, and had to give them your make/model, you're running the right plugs. Although for the price I wouldn't say that the most expensive is the best you can get. Toyota uses denso brand, and I believe factory settings work for the most part.

Kind of... Have you ever bought cheapo plug wires and ran them along your firewall? You could almost tell the exact rpm's just by listening to the radio interference. Lots of fun, unless you're one of those people that don't like annoying sounds.

Yes that could be a problem. These motors were designed to use dual ground plugs. Dont' bother with the platinum and stick with the oem denso or ngk's that are dual (2 metal curls) ground.
