i have a 2001 4runner sr5 4wd and i just got a smog check and failed due to a p0505 error. my check engine light was on at the time of the check, along with the vsc trac and vsc off lights, which is what gave me the error. on my way to get it checked, the lights turned off and i drove it for about 50 miles to see if it would reset and took it back to the smog check but the error code was still there. i had the throttle body cleaned and the iac valve gasket replaced and decarbed, drove it for about 70 miles and took it back to the smog check but i still got that error. anyone else run into this problem? the place where i had it cleaned quoted me about $280 to do a full system check to guarantee that it will pass but i wanted to see if anyone here can help. this is as specific as i can get as i'm not that savvy with cars. thanks.
