which shocks would you recommend

This has probably been covered before but I didn't really see what I wanted to know.

I'm looking at upgrading the suspension on my 97 4runner.

Right now I'm running 265/75/16 BFG A/T's

I want to get the PP 1" lift springs and new shocks

What I'm considering in shocks:
Bilstein HD
Rancho RS5000
OME
(slight possibility of getting TRD liftkit from sonoran steel)

What type of results have you gotten and what would you go with.

This is for my daily driver with offroad use on the weekends.

thanks
Carl

Most use PP springs w/ Bilsteins. They have great success w/ this.

As far as other shocks, OME's may be too tall depending on which OME shocks you get and I know nothing about Rancho's.

I'm interested in knowing more about:
on/off road performance
durability

I'm also looking at TJM/ARB front bumper. Something similar for rear bumper. winch and sliders (got em' just need to install 'em). May get bigger tires later. If that helps at all.

and thanks ebelen1

Well, Bob has the PP springs/Bilstein combo and he runs a TJM bumper up front. I don't remember but I didn't think the bumper caused much sag. Do a search and I'm sure you'll see his thread.

Again, I don't have the combo but many have written that it works well on and offroad. Offroad being light and not the rock crawling stuff.

Lee also has this setup but is switching for better articulation. Try PMing Bob_98SR5 and Lee w/ questions. Make sure that you've searched as they will probably have more patience if you ask "intelligent" questions.

IMHO, I really like the OME stuff...
