Shift Console buttons and switch identification

Greetings Fellow Toyota gear heads. First post here!

I just bought a 85 Pup base model 4x4 with 22rec and auto tranny. This is a resurrection project for my son.

I have a question about some mystery buttons and rocker switch on my shift lever console. There is two push buttons and a rocker switch just below the levers. The lettering is worn off the button to the left. the center button is labeled PWR.(I know this changes the shift points). To the right of the PWR button is a rocker switch.

Does anyone know what the function of first button and the switch is? They don't seem to do anything when i switch them.

If I remember right the buttons are power and economy ,the buttons change the shift points of the trans for towing.

I disassembled the console today to take a look. The rocker switch is after market. I followed the wires to a relay under the hood. I figure it was added for fog or spotlights in a previous life.

The two buttons seem to interact so the Power/Economy function makes sense. I know what the PWR button does as I had an old Camry with this feature. What does the Economy button do? Is it a third transmission shift sequence? Does it change the MAP curves? Anyt info is greatly appreciated.

Thank you

I looked in the owners manual for a 86 the buttons are norm and pwr. The book said the pwr button was for powerful acceleration .I think that some of the cars had the power and economy buttons. It has been a 10 years since I owned a automatic Toyota so my memory is a little rusty.

Ahh...so it is one or the other for only two shift patterns. Thank you for looking it up. It makes sense now.

Cheers!
