Sag question

Sag question
I have a 88 4runner, that is in great shape.
I read on a forum where a guy put a set of coil helper springs on his to combat the rear sag. I ordered some right away. I got them, but had since been reading more that I should not put them on due to the ride being harsh afterwards, and possibly causing damage.
I do not have a lot of money, and was thinking of the leaf helper springs that summit racing offers..
My questions then are, should I try the coil helpers or not? What are the good and the bad?
Thank you.

I just put in a set of add a leafs, the procomp ones. They were 20+ inches and ride pretty decent really. They did raise the back about a 1/2" higher than the front.... but they settled in fine.
Haven't taken them out for any flex test yet, I work to dam much

I would not use add a leafs. Especially with the miles you have on your truck. You would just be masking the problem.
I picked up a set of new leaf springs from this Canadian company with just under a 3" lift to match my front.

I chose this style and they custom fit the lift. Best deal I found on the net at just $142 ea., even when shipping was added.

Thats a great deal on new leafs. I will do it as soon as i can. However as soon as I can might be a little while... My family and I are going through a tough time of it money wise, just lost our house, and trying to rebuild....
I saved the link to the leafs....
Do you think I should try the helper coils I got for now? I might be able to come up with 100 bucks at most in the next month to spare on this sag issue...
As it is i need to come up with money for a new tps I can not afford, and so out there screwing with it daily.....

If it were me, I would not try the coil idea. Just seems like a wild hair idea (but that's just me, take no offense).
To try and save some money in the mean time, you could check with some junk yards and Craigslist, etc. and see if someboby will have something that will work and save you money. I've even heard of some Chevy springs fitting on our trucks.
Be patient, look around and you can save money.
Dad always taught me....if you are in a hurry, you will pay too much!
Good Luck!

I'm not a fan of add a leafs either, but they work if you're on a budget.
Check out OME suspension products, they have a good reputation and good parts!
