Right Spring Sag

I drive a 91 Pickup, SR5 V6.
I know it is a common accurance that the right spring sags on these trucks.
I looked into replacing mine with the left spring off of a truck from a junk yard. Ofcourse the same year and model.
They tried telling me i had to use a right spring.

It just doesnt make sense to me to replace it with a spring that could possibly be just as saggy as the one im replacing.

Someone please tell me if im wrong,.. but i thought leaf springs on these trucks were exactly the same left and right.

Thanks for any help.

Wow, no replies? .... I'm sure you solve this three years later... But I believe on a Big Mike write up somewhere... I guess on Marlin, when they used to have springs, I read this. I just figured I should post something, considering it never got a response! That really sucks!

I'm dealing with sag on the driver side with my Trail Gear 4 inch springs.... Usually because the tank is on the passenger side a 10 to settle on that side before the driver side. So I'm guessing that something is definitely wrong with that pack. I must have over extended it one too many times... Just very odd for springs that are not even 5000 miles old. I am running six and shackles on the rear to defeat some of the SAG, but now I have sag.... Even though the passenger side is one and a half inches taller, it still needs to be brought up a little bit. So I might be going to all pro 6 inch or Trail Gear 5 inch HD. I just don't want to lose flex... So no matter what I might have to add at least one lower leave from my original packs. Anyway, enough pointless rambling in a way that doesn't answer anything, on a topic that is likely been answered 3 years ago! Lol. Just thought I would stop in the one of your friends say what's up! I looked through threads you have started and don't see the build thread... Let me look back again.

No I never did a build thread. Would have been cool to do but never got around to actually starting one. Oh well haha

I never did buy that spring from that junkyard. I just left it be , knowing that eventually I would lift the rear anyway. I have some OME cs0019r springs in there now. 1.75" over stock. The weird thing is that I still get a little sag ( maybe 1/2in ) on the same side I did before (passenger). I had the same thought you had about the gas tank. But even at near empty it still sags. I don't have many miles on them yet, so I will have to see how they settle.

Thanks for the response Chef !

My suggestion is to stop carrying over-nourished gals... Problem solved.
