remove cat converter?

What are the consequences of removing the cat converter? Not speaking of law but fuel efficiency, power etc. My truck was running sluggish so I did it. To me it ran the same except for the crappy sounding exhaust. Will an O2 sensor or pcv valve cause power loss and bad fuel mileage. Maybe some bad vaccum hoses?

On a stock engine, you will lose low end torque and you'll never feel the gain in the top end. The MPG change will be insignificantly lower, and it'll sound like shi*.

Power loss and bad fuel milage can be caused by an o2 sensor, yes, but also MANY other things. Try and narrow down the problem, you'll save money over throwing parts at it.

Oh and please put the cat back on

Yeah I dont see any positive points of not having the cat. I thought it would help mpg and power but I will leave that up to mythbusters.

removing the cat only helps/sounds good on older model chevys and fords, newer stuff like yotas i think the bad far outweighs the good...
