Rearend problem
What's up people I have a 01 Tacoma prerunner v6 with a 6" lift. When I'm driving between 45 and 55 mph I feel banging/jerking that seems to be coming from the rear it kinda feels like it's jumping I heard the term axlewrap thrown around but not sure if that's what it is. I was also thinking of changing my differential gearing. Any help would be greatly appreciated

And you have stock gears? Or a pocket locker? And stock tires? And how many miles on the rear?
Sounds like it's wore out to me and trying to skip a tooth...
But a 2001 shouldn't have that problem... Unless it's driven like it was stolen, the fluid has never been checked and had 35's and or a pocket locker in it...

It sounds like your driveshaft is the problem. Either it's dry and needs some lube or very possibly the 6" lift is putting it at to steep of an angle and making the overall length too short so it's expanding your slip yokes to the max. Is this 6" lift all suspension? If so, you may need a longer shaft (haha).
Gears might be a good idea if you want more power, but I highly doubt they have anything to do with your problem. If you were missing/skipping teeth, then it probably wouldn't only be a problem at 45-55 miles per hour, it should do it at all speeds.

ok, trans in neutral, take turns jacking up one rear tire at a time and spinning it. I want you to do 1 at a time for a reason. To isolate one side. Doing the whole rear could mess up the test.
Then, if you don't find anything you want to let the truck down and test every joint on the shaft. Some take a rag and wrap around a yoke as a handle and try and turn the shaft by hand. You're feeling for play. there should not be any.
Then the slip yoke. Grab it and shake it. There should be no play.
Then, IF you have a mid shaft bearing you want to check that.
Grease everything while you're under it and the problem could go away...

It's stock gears with 150000 miles on it, 35" tires, all suspension lift. I just changed all u joints and carrier bearing. I was looking around for a carrier bearing drop to try and reduce the driveshat angle but no one makes that.

You've done everything mechanical that I know of... I'd check the tire balance, a wheel weight could have came off, and make sure the lugs are tight next.
