Wheel swap

First I would like to say hello I'm new to this forum. I have a 98 SR5 4runner with 235/75/R15 tires and after-market wheels that came with it when I got it. I have some american racing outlaw 2 wheels that I had from my 82 chevy p/u and would like to put on the 4runner if they will fit good and possibly a little bigger tire, because I don't want the wheels to stick out. here are the specs on the wheels I want to put on. If they will fit what would be a good tire to put on, thanks.

Wheel Width (in) 8.00 in.
Backspacing (in) 3.750 in.
Offset (mm) -19.00mm

REAR

235's will be cutting it close on 8" rims, no way a tire shop will touch them with a 10" rim.
if you go to a 265 you might need a slight lift IMO. yes-i know you are considering a larger tire.

you will want to run the same width rim on all four corners, the 10" rim will stick out considerably, the 8" rim slightly

the rims might be ok since the backspacing is more on the 10" wide rim. try getting BFG 31/9.50 for the front and 31/10.50 for the back. and if the wheels still dont line up get wheel spacers for the front.. or 33/10.5 and 33/12.5 combo..

Thanks guys, I was just trying to save some money since I had some nice wheels laying around. since I do have two sets of the outlaw 2 wheels i could just run 15x8 all around couldn't I ? I get confused with how the backspacing works. The 265/75/R16 was what I was also considering for the stock 5 star 4runner wheel and tire set up.

I always was under the assumption that all 3rd gen 4runnershad 16" rims? Regardless, I would run the matching all 4 if you have them, probably the 8" wides to be safe. If you try to run two different tire sizes even off by as much as a 1/2 inch front/rear I am pretty sure this causes a problem when in 4WD (assuming you are 4WD), someone correct me if I'm wrong here.
