Rear end making noise

Hey guys, new to forum. I have a 97 v6 Tacoma, 111000 miles with auto. When I get passed about 30 mph, I hear a slight whining sound. When I ease off the gas pedal, the whine gets quieter but still can hear it. Some one told me the rear end might need to be replaced.
Does Toyota make a rebuild kit? Any suggestions? Thanks.

Could be a pinion bearing in the third member...Most Toyota dealers won't repair a third member (rear diff). You may have to DIY or find a shop. Most like it if you can pull the diff out of the truck and bring it in.

here is a bearing kit.
