Exclamation Rear brake problem.

On my 95 extra cab i decided to remove my wheel and check out my brake drums. Well the passenger drum was covered with greasy gunk, and when i got it off the inside had wads of nasty black grease. It was all over the shoes the drum, and all the components. What could cause this. My Brake fluid is full and i have never had to add any to it.

Sounds like the rear axle seal is leaking on the passenger side

Good Luck! BTW you should do both of the axle seals at once while you're in there, and you might want to look into a diff breather mod so your seals have less of a chance of blowing out again

Yup, very simple. The fitting that threads into the diff is the smallest fitting on the 22RE intake plenum, easy grab at a junkyard. Even if you order it from toyota, its no more than $5.

Here's a good thread on it: https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f129...her-mod-75747/

2nd the diff breather. My rear diff started leaking after a long road trip. Popped her open and the fluid ran out all watered down. After re-sealing and filling, i'm going to install a breather extension. Anyone else have good links or pics I can reference?

Thanks,
