I have a 2002 2wd 4runner and want a 3" suspension and 3" body lift. I dont get to hit the trails much anymore bc i just had a baby. Ive been looking into getting 35s for my truck once i get the lift but wat im unsure of is can i keep the stock gears or would i HAVE to change? I basically use this car for daily driving so is it necessary for that or just offroading to re-gear?

You will need to regear to 5.29s and trim the fenders to fit 35s. Lots of information on 3rd gen 4Runners lifted running big tires here. Try the "search" button and do some reading and you will find lots of good information and varying approaches.

 

Yes you will need to regear...why you would put 35's on a daily driver? I have no idea.

 

Good question, with all the extra stress that they apply to the steering components and the decrease in braking performance that they "provide".
I would think something like that would be way, way, way, down on my list for a DD especially with a new addition to the family.
