Question Question from a noob

Hie everyone. Just thought i should check in and tthank everyone again for helping me get my yota running again. So far, since purchased, i have done the following things:
Oil/oil filter change (20x50)
Coolant flush/change
Air filter changed out
Voltage regulator replaced (the source of my electrical woes ((hopefully)))
ran a fuel line cleaner (the dump in gas kind)

and i have purchased the parts to:
replace fuel filter
change spark plugs

i have a few questions:
Where is the fuel filter?
i feel stupid asking, but i cant seem to find it? I have an 87 extra cab with a 84 22r engine in it?
Is there anything else i should check out or take a look at? I feel i have replaced and flushed the basics but i was hoping someone with more experience could give me a few other things to check out before i take this baby for some serious offroading!
also, would this be a good parts truck for me?

NOTE TO THE MODERATOR: i wasnt sure where to put this so i put it here? please put it where it should be if its in the wrong area.

Newbie tech would have been a better place to put this. Have you looked along the bottom railing of your truck. This is where it is on the 3.0 may be in the same place n the 22r, not sure though.
Have you done a tranny flush? How old are your shocks? have you changed your drive belts?

your fulke filter migth be under your starter ... on the passenger side..take off the wheel.. its a bitch to get at.. thats why i have had the fuel filter for a year but never done it... well i know have the starter and the tranny out so guess what .. ITS GETTING DONE!!!

what kind of tires do you have??? also make sure you have tow points and recovery gear if you are offroading and NEVER GO OFFROADING ALONE!!

Your fuel filter is indeed not easy to get at, its above the starter, to the left of your oil filter. its held on by two 12mm bolts. Your new filter should come with two sets of crush washers for the banjo fittings. Its prolly easiest to get this thing out, buy going in thru the fenderwell, there's a metal plate you can remove that makes it easier access.

uhh I was under the impression only FI models used the banjo bolts. Both mine, my cuz's 87 and my buddys 89 (all carb'd), have the filter in a clip mounted to the passenger fender.
