Propane

I sell propane and propane accessories...

(Not really but I do love King of the Hill )

I think i've found my truck of choice in my upcoming build. its an 86 P/U with a 22r. now i was doing some searching online about the 22r cause i've only researched the 22re. doing so i came across gotpropane.com. I've hear of propane rigs before but never even put a thought into it. now i spend a good time reading the website and i liked what i was reading. I talked with some techs at work and one liked the idea of the a propane toyota. he said it drive just fine with no loss or gain in power and it is less harsh on my engine cause less carbin build up. but what i really wanted to know it how far can you go on a gallon of propane. lets say the truck gets 15 miles to the gallon on gas what am i looking at for miles per gallon on propane? we have a pretty good range of propane supply shops so i'm not worried about that and i'm getting a 2wd toyota for DD and propane is around 2.50 where gas is around 3.60 a gallon. But To be honest i want the bragging rights of saying "My truck runs on propane" cause, come on, thats cool and rare around here. But I don't want to go this rout if everytime i want to drive it for an hour i burn 40 bucks of propane.

Thanks,
-Alex

I guess thats not to bad. i could live with that considering it will be a "special occasion" truck.

So you're running propane right now? Do you like it? Hows the power vs gas?

biggest question is... would you recommend it on a full rebuild project?
