power seat mod

this is my first post so bear with me. I scored some leather power seats out of a 96 ford explorer they fit but with some mods to the seat bracket and you have to cut out the seat riser on the floor because they sit a little to high pics will follow in the morning. but I was wondering if i should wire up a relay or just a fuse any help would be great.

Im not an expert on wiring, but using a relay would be the better way of doing it, and also put a fuse on the main power feed.
