please help wont stay running

please help wont stay running

ok i have looked and looked and i just want to know how to fix it ,its a efi and it will start and stay running for about 5 sec and die like its starving for gas i would like to know if i can clean the maf,and how or what else it might be i keep seeing the jump the fuel pump, can anyone tell me how to do this step bye step i am going over tamarow to work on it for 1 hour if i cant fix it i wont bye it, but i really need it so any help at all will help thank you

Sounds like your fuel pump resistor and/or relay isn't working.

The toyota fuel pumps have two modes, 12v for demanding situations, and a lower (6 or 9v) for most other driving. This is controlled by the fuel pump resistor, and relay. If the resistor fails, you get no low voltage. When your truck starts, it starts off in high voltage mode, then kicks down after a few seconds. If the resistor isn't working, the pump will cut off rather than slow down.

What year EFI motor is this? I assume it's not an 83 EFI by looking at your signature. The year of the motor will determine how to jumper the pump.

i am sorry for doing this but yes its a 83 its in a celica can you give a cuple ways of doing it and i will try it
