Your RPMs will be about 5-800 higher at highway speeds if you go from 4.11s (guessing that's what you have now) to 5.29s. To give you an idea, my 4.88s made it so I do about 2700 RPMs @ 70 MPH in O/D. Not bad at all IMO. You'll lose a little bit of top-end speed, but well worth it for all the acceleration and torque you'll get back.

I say 4.88s if you're never going to get bigger tires. If you think you might, 5.29s for sure.
ok thanks thats helpful but wouldnt mine be reverse cut since its a 95.5 taco its all the same as the 96

Yes, it is the reverse-cut for you (same as the 96+ Tacos)! Sorry about that, your avatar looked like a pre-taco on my little laptop screen. I'm glad you asked again, I would have felt terrible.

CORRECTION!!! Your rear diff is NOT the 8" V6/Turbo diff!!!!!!
It is the The T100/Tundra/Tacoma diff, which has an 8" ring gear, but it is not the same. All non-TRD Tacos came with this diff. Sorry for the wrong info, again, I thought it was a pre-Taco.

You'll love having lower gears - it was the single best mod I've ever done for my truck!

check marlincrawler.com and trail-gear.com. you can buy the whoel 3rd with the gears already setup. it would probably be cheaper to buy the whoel third and bolt it up yourself the nto buy the gears and let a shop do it. also, yo migh twana think about throwin a lockrite or another locker in the rear while your at it.
