hey guys i want to paint my rims black. they're stock, 5-star OEM toyota rims. any suggestions on how? what paint type, what technic, etc? any insight would be helpful. thanks

Are they the steel rims? I painted mine two years ago and they are still holding up well. Although I painted mine grey.

I cleaned mine up really well with some 3M Scotch pads. Course then fine. Then I cleaned blew them off with air and cleaned them with acetone. I used two coats of primer and then two coats of grey wheel paint. Before I painted them, I made a cardboard template to cover the tires. I also painted the back sides although I didn't spend as much time on the prep in there. A guy at work actuall thought I got new rims.

Its all in how you prep them. Make sure they are clean and at least scuff them up a little with the scotch brite pad or something... a lot of people will say use Aircraft stripper to get all of the paint off of there now...
Make sure they are clean and dry before you paint, and remember primer then paint. LIGHT coats. Multiple light coats will ALWAYS be better than one heavy coat when rattle can painting.
