Operating aisin manual hub conversion

I've read all the threads about installing aisin hubs on a 2nd gen 4Runner, but my question is the operation of them after installation. After locking the hub can you shift on the fly like the ADD system, will the 4wd light dash light still work and do you need to deal with any parts of the old ADD system. The upgrade seems too easy.

the 4wd light will work if it worked before and yea you can still shift on the fly... it just unlocks the axles when you have them in unlock...

itsa very easy job and rewarding job!

The ADD hubs are locked all the time, the manual hubs give you the option of unlocking them. Of course when they are unlocked you won't be able shift to 4wd on the fly, you'll have to get out and lock them first.

X3 on the above:
- Hubs locked = 100% the same as your ADD operation now.
- Hubs unlocked = 2WD (rear wheel) no matter what.
