old 2.4 diesel the same as a jdm diesel
Hello I am new to the Toyata scene..I have a opportunity to purchase a 1989 JDM Toyota Surf/4Runner(rhd) with a 2.4 turbo diesel with a cracked head..I understand that it could be a very expen$ive job to repair..I have a 2.4 diesel that came out of a (Canadian)1985 4x4 pickup that I would like to install. Are they the same engine? Do they use the same block bolt holes(bosses)for the motor mounts? Any info would be helpfull..Thanks

well the old engine is just a 2l the one from the surf is the 2lte has a turbo on it..
i know the 3l head works or the new 2lte head is good too.. my surf had the head done in japan and has run great for the 3 years its been in the country!
but the whole engine from the canadian truck will fit....
