Oil leak

I have a leak more like a seep at the rear of my 3rz on my 97 taco. I can't tell if it is a back corner of the oil pan or the rear main seal. I am about to do the clutch, I just got the kit. I have never looked at the rear main, but I am wondering when I see it with the flywheel off if it will be apparent if the leak is there. I don't want to mess with it if it is not leaking. Then I will just go ahead and pull the oil pan and reinstall with a fresh bead of toyota fipg. Thanks for the input.

I don't mind just changing the oil pan seal, but don't want to just change a rear main for the heck of it and open a possible can of worms with it. Luckily all this is much easier with the clutch out anyways.
