i have an 86 pickup with a problem shifting in/out of overdrive randomly. it will start this after about 7 mi. of driving and will buck in and out of o/d. i replaced the thermostat today and no change, any ideas?

 

I'm not too familiar with the 86's but.... I'd start by testing ur coolant temp sensor.
