Newbie with tech question

Hello everyone,
I am new here of course! I been building a 1987 Toyota DLX pickup 4X4. I am at a confused time of my build. I have a 22R motor, and my carburetor is doing funky things. For example, when my truck is cold it hardly idols and runs very rough. Once my truck warms up, the truck runs perfect! Do you have any ideas what this may be? I am sure the carb is stock. I am about to replace the whole darn thing, but would like to first get your imputs. People with experiance is a must!
Thank you,
Anthony Heer
Oh and I will have all my build pics up tonight when I get home from work!

welcome to YT, and a PNW member is always a great addition
there is a link to factory service manuals in my Signature, there you will find the manual you need, should be in the section under 'minor engine' you should find symptons & recommendations there...
My '81 with a 22R was experiencing similar issues-I just came in from doing a basic tune up, replaced the fuel filter and running some SeaFoam through the intake. The truck does much better, actually acts like it has some power. Though after looking atthe carb, I know it will need a thorough cleaning in the future. Not saying what I did will cure what ails your truck, but might help...
Good luck!
