Yup, same color it appears - pewter pearl, code 196 on the sticker on the driver side door panel.
You could easily pull a couple spark plugs and take a peek. Also, if you slip back the upper radiator clamp and remove the bolts you can slip back the upper timing cover and see the belt.
Oh, yes.....go to the Toyota Owner's Online website and after you set-up an account you can enter the VIN. You can the see if Toyota has any work listed for the past several years on the rig.

I never would have expected that truck to have 230k miles based upon just the pics you've shown us. It is ridiculously clean!
He's right. We're all crazy around here. Sometimes we yell at rats with our shirts off

Yours is a twin to mine under the hood (except I have no clutch master cylinder) and just as clean.
Take a look at all the fluids and pull the tires to inspect the brakes. Make sure there are no frayed strands on the + cable at the battery terminal....it's inconclusive in the photos.
While the vacuum hoses look good, take a look for any cracks or cracked ends. Also, check the air cleaner and PCV valve. Doing the basic maintenance checks is always a a good idea on a new-to-you rig.
Use only Toyota OEM, Denso, or NGK electrical parts. This engine and ECU does not like other brands. Use only dual electrode spark plugs.
You probably have already found this subforum for our rigs.

Spent a little time working on Clifford the Third today - replaced the cracked front bumper (plastic part only, but going to do the metal soon). Played around under the hood a little, spark plugs look okay.
My boyfriend says the boots on the ball joints are leaking. Are they going to be hard to replace? What happens if I put it off?

You can tell you are a girl....no one has turned intoa buzzard and asked about the old truck yet. LMAO...
Huge upgrade on the Tacoma. I have a 01 prerunner 3rz. So its like your trucks anemic little brother with asthma and one ball.

A simple matter to pull the upper timing cover and take a look at the belt.
Horse women you will fit right in.
It does look like the truck was taken care of or was it just detailed before you bought it.
I would go with seat covers that are cool to sit on and can be thrown in the washer as needed.
Best of luck.

Upper or lower ball joints? Why I ask is that the lower ball joints have a nasty habit of separating on rigs of the age of yours. It seems to be just a wear issue and they give no warning before going as members around here have found.
Highly recommend using Toyota OEM and the lower ball joints will run about $80 per side and are easy to replace. The uppers have to be pressed in and out but can be done with hand tools and are about $40 per side.
IMHO, best to replace them all.....it will save you a bunch of $$$$ versus breaking one and then fixing the ensuing damage.

My old truck had vinyl seats, I could just wipe them off with water and dog hair didn't stick. I miss that already

Being your a girl you might have trouble removing a seat cover and putting it in the wash machine.
i pull them off and throw them in the wash before bed take them out till the morning there dry
mine take less then 5 minutes to install and remove. I made mine out of a thick Terry cloth nothing fancy.

If you're a horse girl these might be for you. Has a lot of custom options for your individual seat if you're worried about fit. They look pretty legit to me, but then again, I'm an old man trapped in a 23 year olds body. haha
