1995 was the last year Toyota offered the 4.88 gearing in the 4Runner. 1996 saw a new body style, and the elimination of the 4.88 gear option.
Your 4Runner likely has the 4.30 gear ratio. This was used 95% of the time in V6 Auto E-lock trucks.

DC - Both of my factory e-locked Toyotas (98 4Runner, 01 Tacoma) both had 4.10 gearing (per the sticker in the door jamb). I actually know of more people with 4.10 gearing than 4.30. I think 4.10's are more prevalent. Unless the door jamb stickers are not accurate?

What code is your door jamb on your 4Runner?
The tacomas only used a 4.10 locker option. They never had a 4.30 locker option.
However, i have learned to never trust the door jamb stickers. I remember seeing on several tacomas where toyota printed "???????" as an axle code. How does the factory not even know what they put in there?!

Really? Question marks? That's ridiculous. Huh, I didn't know about the Tacoma's never being offered with 4.30's. The TTORA site lists it as one of the
options.
