New Owner - 1992 Toyota Pickup 4x4 Newbie questions

Hi all,

I bought a near rust free frame of a toyota 4x4 that needs an engine, so my buddy and I are going to drop a new engine in, but while it's out what are some common things I should do?

What has been done:

Timing Belt
Heads
Clutch
Alternator

What I'd like to do:

Wiring harness is frigged, as you can tell in the picture below, will replace.
Oil Cooler (a little iffy about how to install)
Possibly rad swap to ensure the rad is in the best possible operating cond.

any thing else you guys can think of?

Dean

while you have the engine out, check the clutch and flywheel and stuff and replace if neccesarry. Also check the trans input seal. I would replace it just because. I did my clutch, and by golly a couple days later after I put my trans back in, the seal started leaking. Its not a very expensive part...its worth it to fix IMO. also the fuel filter is usually hard to get to. if you have the block out, I would do that if you think it needs to be replaced.

I would definitely use a flare wrench instead of normal wrench. I just did mine a few weeks ago, and it was already pretty stripped. But using a regular 14mm wrench only stripped it to the point of no return.
