New lift.... new questions....

So I just got a new lift today for my 2000, Taco, 3.4 L, w/ARB bumper.....

My first question is whether my coils are adjusted too high for the CV joints. I had it professionally installed and they adjusted it to level out the truck. But it just seems to me that it would put a lot more stress on the joints at the current angle, thus causing them to break faster. This is with the diff drop installed too.

I also "got an alignment" at the shop at the same time. I use quotes loosely because it sure as hell doesn't feel like I got one. My truck drifts to the right bad when the steering wheel is straight. Which leads me to my second question, will a mis-alignment or no alignment cause vibration throughout the truck at highway speeds? It almost feels like its coming from the front and down the DS. I plan on taking it back for another alignment when I get a chance.

Any ideas would help. Thanks in advance for any help.

Well its best to take your truck to a front end shop which specializes in only alignments. I've gone through tons of alignment shops through the years and have always found that the all in one garages aren't as good with lifted trucks as the alignment specialty shops are.

Your CV's look OK...I would probably adjust them down just a tad though, especially if the ride is a little rough. You'll probably bust a boot, which is common after a lift. Just keep your eye on it. When/if it does, you can still drive it around until you have time to fix it.

Thanks Baja, really appreciate the feedback. I plan on taking it back to the shop for an alignment and give them a second chance to do it right. If not, then I guess I'll have to drop some more money on a real alignment.

I was told by the shop that they adjusted the coils a quarter inch higher than the back to compensate for the sag that will follow. But I'm not sure how long it will take to sag. I will just keep an eye on the boot.

Also, when I hit highway speeds my truck seems to have a bad vibration throughout the truck. Seems to originate from the front end. I'm hoping it will go away after the alignment. I will report back after the alignment. But has anyone else experienced any similar after getting a lift? And what was the culprit? Thanks.
