Need Your Opinions and Help!

Well to start i recently aquired this toyota recently and wish to build it up some. I have put on some goodies as you can see. Only problem being is the rough idle. I already cleeaned the throttle body.I bought some 4.56 thirds already and plan to put them in when i get my 32 or 33" tires. It is a 22re manual. I want to lift this truck for looks and some off road. I like the look of a truck that is lifted just a shy more than it should. The only off road I see is some rocks, nothing realy slow, and a lot of snow and mud. I dont know what to do for a lift im thinkin bj spacers and a slight crank on the t bars for 2-3" of lift and then I have 2" blocks and i could leave them or do a shackle combonation. Im also thinking of just and ifs lift. If anyones got one id be interested. Anyway Id like your opions and one more thing i noticed a slight bulge in my tire and included a picture is this bad?
Thanks in advance you guys are great!

that is a broken belt in your tire and you need to get it replaced soon. i would stay off the highway with it because it is only a matter of time before it fails.

x2 for the tire.

The more you lift, the more problems you will have with the steering. You can fit 33x10.50 stock, put some lockers in the diffs and there won't be a hunting spot you can't get to.

X2 on getting that tire replaced ASAP...mild chunk out of the sidewall center of the bulge too.

as far as the rough idle might be time to clean the injectors too..not an expert on the sort of thing.

other than the cranking the torsion bars I think you are on the right track as far as lift. I cranked the torsion bars on my old '86 4Runner because that is what I did on my old VW bugs to either lift or lower them...IMO it rides like crap with cranked torsion bars...do you know a cheap chiropractor?
Might consider a set of new rear springs instead of the blocks...pretty straight forward install...depends on your budget though..

pretty clean truck though..

I would do the spacers in the front.
Don't use the blocks, in the rear add a few leafs into your spring pack, put on a longer shackle, and longer shocks.

If you go with lockers don't put one in the front just the rear. The rear locker will help alot and if you ever decide to SAS your truck you can reuse the rear differential but not the front.
aussie is cheap and works
ARB is $$$ but nicer.

Aussie I dont believe makes one for toyota that ive heard of maybe im mistaken. I don't realy want to add leafs cause it's kinda a pain and makes it ride rougher. Ill look into it though. Can someone do the math for me how much longer do you need then a stock rear shackle to lift 1"? Im thinking of making one with all the grease fittings and what not.

If you add 1 long Toyota leaf it won't be stiff, lift blocks will make axle wrap worse causing loss of traction. If your shackle is 2" longer eye to eye it will give you about 1" of lift.
For a v6 differential you are looking into Lock-rite or Detroit.
Auto lockers can be a pain of the street read this http://www.gentryoffroad.com/php/gen...view/lockrite/

But as with anything theres good reviews and bad reviews. Ive heard all sides of the stories with auto lockers. IDK. So your saying Aussie doesn't make one then for the v6 correct? I don't want to have to reset gears or w/e.

I don't think Aussie makes one for the V6 differential.

rough idle's an easy one usually...

get some injector cleaner, read the instructions...
also, it doesn't hurt to spoil your truck with a tank of plus or prem. every couple of fill ups. (Ok, it does hurt your wallet a bit... suck it up.)

good to know you got that tire replaced... all I could think was "It's not a toomah"... /shrug...
I'm a dork.
