Brand spanking new new guy here. I own 3 Toyota's. 1986 Toyota Sunrader RV . Basically just a 1986 pick up truck. R22-E Calif. Runs Great. Problem is twice I've been cruising along then out of nowhere it just stalls. Totally random. Won't re start for about 20-30 mins.

 

Does the engine sputter and then die, or does the engine die like a switch being turned off?

 

Ignition coil maybe? I know on other cars if it gets hot,it stops working and will not work again until it cools down.

 

I just replaced the ignition coil. And yes, it would just quit and not sputter out. I've not driven it enough to have the problem since replacing the ignition coil. The problem is so random, you never know where or when it's going to happen. That's why it's a mystery.

Currently, I'm replacing small, easy to do, inexpensive parts like the coil, fuel relay switch and EFI resistor.
