My '98 4runner rides like a steamroller. HELP.

Seriously, this thing is rough. I have it sittin' on 265 70R16s but I swear it should not be this bad! Going over cracks in the road the whole truck shakes and its pretty miserable. Its like I can feel every rock or bump I go over, so I wanna fix it. I figure I could throw some new shocks on it and maybe coils on it but don't really know what will get my desired effect. Its a 2x4 so I dont really need anything for going FAR off road, I just want it to ride more dare I say... Cadillac? The only real off road it gets is on the dirt and rocks in Big Bend National Park. Anyway, if anyone could help me out with a good set up I would sure appreciate it. I drive 65 miles a day commuting in Houston so the less my T4R sucks, the less my day sucks.

see if your sagging springs were ever replaced under the recall.
Tall 99 coils are just one of many substitutes if the dealership won't help you out. Old Man Emus another popular choice.
welcome aboard- this is perhaps the most discussed item amongst 4Runner 3rd gen owners.

how many miles on your shocks? OME coils would be nice, and what tire pressure are you running.. im my bfg a/ts i run like 30 psi. higher tire pressure will make them harder at highway speeds and increase the risk of a blowout

Ummm..
Okay..
1. Called Toyota and coils were replaced in 02' by Toyota.
2.I got new shocks and coils about 60k ago. It didnt really improve the ride THAT MUCH when I first got them. Does anyone know of an aftermarket shock/coil set up that would just bet better than stock Toyota set? I have my psi at about 30 so I don't think thats it either. Im thinkin' my SUV has one of the worst suspensions in the world but the absolute best motor/drive train.
3. The picture is in the middle of the night in Big Bend National Park (thats why you see stars and stuff!). It was shot with at Canon 30D with I think a 32-70MM 2.8 L lens. It was a long exposure so it looks like day time (captures ambient light over 30 sec. ya?) and is my fav. pic of my Yota even if Its only half. The light in the back ground is of a club laser I own. Apparently thats where the pattern goes in the coarse of 30.
4. We were drinking. Have you ever been to Big Bend? Tripping would be the wrong mind set if something mechanically went wrong for sure! None of that you hippy! Can you help with my problem or are you chillin with Cheech listening to Dark Star Orchestra?
OH! and why can't I say T4R? Is it redundant? It is redundant...
