There is a smell coming from my '90 3.0 v6 I can't quite put my finger on. It smells sweet almost like antifreeze and yet it also smells like oil. It is very noticeable when the windows are down, but hardly when the windows are up. I've had the AC and Heater blowing, and there is no smell. Just tonight coming home from work, with windows up, it smelled just as strong as when I had the windows down. Anyone know what's wrong?

 

go take a drive at 55+ mph somewhere for about 10 minutes then stop somewhere safe and pop the hood quickly and look inside for any steam rising up. that should point out a general location for the problem.
