Manual Transmission 3 inch Body lift

Question, I have a 87 Pickup 4X4 just install a 3 inch body lift and what's the best way to get the manual shifter working. I do not want to cut the floor unless that's the last straw.

Thanks, Bill

use less body lift or cut and weld your shifter to make it work, only ways that i can think of.

Have a shop cut and weld 3" Extensions BEFORE the bends near the bases of your shifters, bend to fit as neccasary, easy.

extending the shifter might not help. It will move the top of your shifter 3 inches higher, or whatever height you order. But if your problem is limited movement of your shifter, the extender won't help at all. The reason is that the floorboard or center console is now moved 3 inches higher on your shifter. Consequently, the throw of your shifter is much more limited.

On my truck, the tranny shifter didn't give me any problems; it was the t-case shifter that I had to adjust. I inverted the boot, trimmed the metal plate that holds the boot, and slightly bended the shifter. It really wasn't too much work at all.

Your kit should've come with the extensions.
