Manual hubs...

I recently got a shop to change my front drivers side rotor on my 87 4runner.

Now my manual hub switch on that side does not turn all the way to "Lock"

I went in some mud to see if that wheel gets power, and it does, so it seems that it is in fact locking.

Do I need to worry about this do you think?

sounds like when they put the hub back on they put it on in the locked position and not free position. Take it back to them and tell them to put it on the right way.

Take the manual hub off, and give it a look, grease it up, etc.

X2 hub only needs a light coat of greese. To much or to little can cause it to not want to turn positions. Their super easy to lube, beleive the is a write up or two hundred on it here.

So you mean in the free position, it may still be locked?

I'm going to take it back to them anyways

It could be.... to check while in 2wd and the hub in the unlocked position grab the CV shaft on that side and see if you can turn it by hand. If you can't then your hub is still engaged.
