My truck came with broken aftermarket cruise control. The cable under the hood is chewed halfway through, and the arm hangs off the steering wheel. I would like to remove all related parts, but there is also a sole light in my dash that blinks a few times when I shut off the ignition.

How involved is cruise control wiring, and will I find myself digging into the transmission or something to take the whole feature out? It's just crowded under the hood and I wonder if I don't have some parasitic draw from having it in there dead like it is.
