Low Oil Pressure?

Just picked up an 83 celica. I am gonna put it in my blown up truck. I know no history about the vehicle. It runs. Oil pressure gauge only reads up to halfway even at 4k rpm. When idling it points just right of the tip of the L. I think it seems low. How bout you all. I grounded the gauge and it goes full way so I know it is not the gauge. Oil level is full.

Trust me, it can still be the gauge.. The only way to know for sure it to connect a mechanical gauge.

I've got a new motor - old sensor and gauge.. It sits at the bottom part of normal, just below the line.

I have a high vol / high pressure pump from DOA. Idle pressure is around 35psi.. 70-77psi under normal RPM. I've got a seperate gauge (electrical actually, but more acturate than stock).
