lifted ifs trouble
I have a 1987 Toyota with 5.5 inches of suspension lift in the front. my axle angles are fairly steep I don't have a picture straight on of it but its sitting on the droop stops on both sides on flat ground. I recently had both axles pull out of the axle housing. the diff has been dropped . iv been told about a spacer for this problem to put less strain/pull on the axles, have any of you used these. also iv come across people putting t-100 axles in, would that do me any good here or is that related to something else. also im not sure why iv had this problem when I know multiple local ifs Toyotas with just as steep angles and they have stock axles and no spacers or anything pass stock setup with lift. I just got it back from the shop having new axles installed . iv owned the truck for years now with the same lift and this is my first trouble could it be they weren't installed correctly and if I get it back right it would be fine for another many years. any advice is appreciated

Concerning your statement "Both axles pulled out of the axle housing", can you provide more detail? Did the inner barrel and tripod of the CV assembly pull apart? Or did the axle stubs pull out of the third member?
In the photo you posted I see the alignment cams maxed out to provide maximum positive camber. I see the RH side front bump stop missing. I see the drop bracket connection to the factory pivot location showing different hardware. The RH side is showing an oval washer while the LH side is showing something else.
Usually when the alignment cams are set maxed out like yours are the CV axle plunge is collapsed all the way and it can bottom out on itself. If this happens it can bind upon itself and twist and shift the front third assembly in a way that will deflect and bend the diff drop brackets so the CV tripod pops out. Inspect your diff drop brackets for bent or dislocated components.
A missing bump or droop stop can allow the suspension too much travel and that may lead to pulling apart the CV assembly.
If the drop bracket "stilts" are not centered in the frame or allow it to shift from side to side maybe that has something to do with it? There should be (8) identical oval shaped washers connecting the drop bracket to the frame. In the photo I can't see detail of the LH washer?

ill try to put a picture on to show exactly what it looks like. I checked the drop diff brackets everything looks fine there. the bumpstops have never hit on the driver side so I never bothered to put one one the passenger. I don't know much about the aligment but I recently had it it aligned and wasn t told of any issues. it performed fine at these angles with everything identical to now until a had it regeared and new axles installed. just wondering if the spacers iv been told about would work or if any one else has used them, thanks
