Im only 15 but i remember my dad put a lift in his 85 nissan 4x4 and it was done with blocks in the back and torchen bars and spring strech in the front is that the way to go or should i spend the 1000$ fer a 4 inch country bulit life???

 

year of truck? I'm assuming 86-88 with your avator and talking about IFS but if you have a solid axle its a totally different way of lifting...

Assuming IFS you could crank the T bars, add ball joint spacers, get a bracket lift (the type of lift you're talking about) and for the rear you could go blocks...lift shackles...or new lift springs, the lift springs being the best way to lift your rear

 

And if you lift the front with ball joint spacers or cranking the t-bars the max lift you would want to do would be 2" so it depends on how much lift you want....

You could also go the cheap and less popular route and do a body lift...but people seem to not like those so much

 

y thats asowm but a guy in maryland offerd a never used 4 inch body lift for my truck for 100$ + shipping or should i do what i was gunna do?

4" body lift.... do suspension lift, do it right the first time, you can get you're truck in the air for probably 300 bucks with a suspension lift

i am limited i bought the truck fer 500 but g2 pay dad 300 for diesel to pick it up so im tight on money so you say do the blocks and stuff?!

 

The body lift IMO will make your truck look cheap...your frame will be almost all the way showing and you will have a huge gap under your bed unless you cover it up with gap guards and then you would have to extend your shifters and lengthin other stuff...a body lift does not get your belly higher off the ground it just raises the cab...blocks aren't the best way to lift a truck but they are way better than a body lift IMO, I'd spend the extra money and lift it by the suspension lift....

Thats definately not gunna work...just think about it...you're driving down the road and your suspension falls apart...what do you think happens......if you don't have the money to do the lift right don't put yourself in danger by ghetto riging a lift lol and in the end its your decision...how bad do you want that lift?

Idk about second gens but toyotas are known to be able to fit a 33 inch tire at stock suspension height...and if you don't have money for a lift how are you going to spend 500+ bucks on a set of tires? you don't want a jacked up truck and have little baby meats on it

people who don't take the time to type well usually don't take the time to help themselves to the loads of information already present (aka they ask to be spoon fed by everyone instead of going to the suspension section of this forum).

edit: blocks are dumb. Somewhere down the road one of your blocks (if not both) will fly out from between your leaves and axle and send your truck flipping and sliding into a ditch and/or people. Do it once, do it right, Otherwise you're going to go home crying one night.
