leaky rear axle

93 22re, 5spd
So I've been leaking a little oil for about the past month, but I checked it all the time and topped it up. But yesterday she finally went 100% on me. Came out after work to find a nice puddle, and oil all over my MTR. So tonight after work I decided to tackle it. After 2 grueling hours of beating on my drum it finally pops off. Luckily everything else goes to plan and I get the axle out. My question is, is there a trick to remove the bearing myself, or do I need to take it into a shop and get it pressed?

Use a cutting wheel to cut the bearing retainer off. You can buy new retainers when you get your new bearings. If they don't come with them. Don't cut into your axleshafts(no worries messin' the bearings up if your replacing 'em), cut most the way through the retainer then use a hammer to crack it on the cut. It'll be loose enough to come off pretty easy after that. And yes, both sides should be done at once, bearings and seals. Your definetely not going to want to mess with your axles again for awhile, so get it all done now.

Whatever you do, DO NOT try pounding the axleshafts out of the bearings with the retainers still on. You'll either bend them or foul the splines. There's NO REAL WAY not to, trust me I know from personal experience.
