Kit or piece together

Hey guys,
I'm new to this forum but have been reading it for a long time. Just finally joined though. Love this forum! Very technical write ups and build threads.

I have a 1988 4Runner I'm bout to SAS. On the rear I have already installed 63 inch chevys and 35 in. KM2s. I'm gonna keep try to keep it low. My plan is to use hanger and shackles from Trail Gear and redrill the shackles to 3 inches. I was gonna do RUF too.

My question is should I just piece it together like I planned or do the whole kit. I would like to save some dough which I know is hard when SAS'n. But I figured up all I need from trail gear and it came out to a little under 2/3s of what the full kit costs. This includes Hanger and shackles, crossover steering, u bolt flip kit, wheel spacers, knuckle service kit, and motor mount cover plates.

Just wantin to see what yalls experience has brought you too. Thanks - Luther

kit kit kit.......

when i sas'ed i tried to piece mine together. so while i save a bunch of money buying used but never installed hi-steer and front hanger, it was the little parts that nickled and dimed me to death.

if you plan on going the Trail-gear kit, let me know i can hook you up. i am a Trailgear dealer.

A pieced together kit will cost you almost 150% more.

A "kit" is not a solve all as you still have to have someone competent install it, but not having to worry about getting all the parts is what makes the kits nice.
