Jumping e1 and te1
I tried jumping the e1 and te1 terminals with a paperclip to see if I could figure out why I had a slight hesitation during idle. When I turned the key (didn't turn over the motor), the check engine light blinked constantly (1/2 second intervals) for 125 blinks before I shut the key off. I imagine it would have continued to blink if I hadn't removed the key. Does this indicate a big problem or what. By the way 95 4runner 3vze. Any help is appreciated.

Yes, if it blinks constantly with no breaks or it doesnt speed up or anything, that means there are no store codes.
As for your slight hesitation, have you replaced your fuel filter yet? I know toyota claims its a lifetime filter, but thats just bs.

Maybe it is a lifetime filter because it doesn't actually filter anything?? I have 218,000 miles on my original filter. I should really change it out since it is easily accessible since the torsion bar is not there anymore.

Fellas, thanks for the good news. I thought that might have been some sort of count down to my motor exploding. HAHA. No I haven't changed my fuel filter, 150,000 miles. I will try that. Thanks again.
